Completed Projects 07/08

Following huge demands twenty four schools in Trafford took part in Whole Class Instrumental and Vocal Projects in the autumn term 2007. Read about some of the schools that took part below.



Highfield Primary School PDF Print E-mail

Children in year 4 are learning to play samba as part of their whole class samba and vocal tuition project this term. They are looking forward to performing for their parents and other children at school at the end of the project and taking part in the RNCM event in April.

 
St Hilda's Primary School PDF Print E-mail

Children in year four are having their turn at learning to play African drums following the fabulous performance by year 5 children last term at their end of their project.  They are working with Mrs Curzon and Miss Bruce, learning a range of African percussion and songs. They will be performing to their parents and the rest of the school  at the end of this term. St Hilda's will be taking part in 2 projects in the summer term, another whole class percussion and also whole class violins for the year 3 children!

 
Navigation Primary School PDF Print E-mail

Children in year 5 at Navigation Primary school will be participating in one of two projects taking pace this year. This term half of the cohort are enjoying learning to play brass instruments and are looking forwards to performing at RNCM in April. The rest of the year group will be learning to play the clarinet in the summer term.

Several children who took part in the whole class brass project last year have taken up lessons in school in groups through Trafford's TAIT arrangements and are reported to be making great progress on their instruments.

 
Gorse Hill Primary School PDF Print E-mail

Gorse Hill Primary School is currently taking part in its 3rd whole class clarinet and vocal project. Children in Year 5 are looking forward to their concert in school and are delighted that they are going to have the opportunity to perform at RNCM in April. Many children who took place in the previous clarinet projects have opted to continue to learn to play through Trafford's TAIT Scheme and will be beginning their group lessons this term. Exciting times for music at Gorse Hill!

 
Park Road Sale Guitar PDF Print E-mail

Following a wonderful recorder project enjoyed by the year 3 children, Park Roads' Year 5 children are currently engaging in an exciting whole class guitar and vocal project every Tuesday afternoon. The children will be performing to the rest of the school and their parents at the end of the project just before Easter.

Year 5 children are enjoying a learning to play African drums as part of their whole class instrumental and vocal tuition project this term. They are working towards a performance for their school and parents at the end of this term.

 
Moorlands Junior School - Percussion PDF Print E-mail

Following the very successful year 5 clarinet project last term, Moorlands Junior School pupils are taking part in a second Wider Opportunities project (whole class instrumental and vocal project) this academic year. Children in the small specialist class are enjoying learning to play samba and are looking forward to being involved at the performance at Royal Northern College of Music in April.
