Strings - Grade 1+.

Trafford Youth Junior Strings is open to players of grade I to IV standard. From September 2009, rehearsals for Junior Strings will take place at Sale Grammar School on Friday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.00pm during term time.

The first half of the rehearsal time is taken up with sectionals. Cellos and third violins are tutored separately until the break when the tuck shop opens! The second half of the session is spent in full orchestral rehearsal.

Performances take place at the end of each term with other TYO ensembles, with a Gala concert at Easter as a highlight of the year.

In 2001, a very successful summer school was founded which included full orchestra, chamber music, sight reading, Dalcroze and Kodaly training. This was so good that it became an annual event.

The staff and members of this group are very enthusiastic and welcome new members to join the fun.
