Trafford Music Service provides support and training for all staff responsible for teaching music, from child minders and nursery settings, through Foundation Stage up to Key Stages 4 and 5. Support is tailored to each situation, according to the demands of the personnel and institution involved. Curriculum support is available to schools through the Buyback or Individual Service system within the School Improvement Service. Other organizations should contact the Music Service direct.

All Curriculum Support is provided by highly trained, qualified teachers with high levels of expertise in music.  It can take place within the classroom, where Music Service staff work with the children alongside class teachers.  In this way, school-based teachers develop their own skills and knowledge relating to the teaching of music, and are empowered to continue teaching music effectively once the input from Trafford Music Service has been completed.  Many teachers have benefited from this service, particularly those working with children in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Curriculum Support for Key Stage 3 and above can also be provided within the classroom, where appropriate. Singing is a key area of music development for children of all ages.  Curriculum support for singing may be requested specifically, for any Key Stage. Trafford Music Service aims to support all schools and settings, in the provision of high quality music education for all pupils in the Borough.  All requests are considered. Where it is not possible to provide the support, Trafford Music Service acts as a broker for other organizations and individuals, whose work is proven to be of a high standard.
