Poynton Royal British Legion Concert Band was established 36 years ago. It provides opportunities for amateur wind players and percussionists of all ages and abilities to play a variety of music and support the fundraising activities of the Royal British Legion.

The band's Musical Director is Keith Hatton, a former Army Director of Music who has most recently conducted the Blackpool Symphony Orchestra.

Poynton (RBL) Concert Band is looking to recruit more new players and would really like to encourage young players to 'give them a try'. The membership secretary will ensure that any new players are properly introduced into the band so it is not too daunting an experience. If you are interested in going along to listen to the band with a view to joining, there are two concerts taking place in June at the following venues:

• Poynton Civic Centre - 6th June

• Macclesfield Town hall - 26th June
