"Wider Opps" is the name used to describe Whole Class Instrumental and Vocal projects, where children in the junior age range spend an hour each week developing musical skills through vocal activities and tuition on a musical instrument.

Trafford Music Service offers a range of instrumental options: recorder, percussion, violin, brass, clarinet, fife and guitar.

All the children involved are given at least one opportunity to perform to their parents, and the school population.

The majority of schools in the Borough have taken up the chance to run at least one project, thanks to a special grant from the government.
