  • TAIT is a growing organisation, associated with Trafford’s Stop Gap, which provides supply teachers and teaching assistants to schools in the Borough.
  • TAIT cannot guarantee employment, but being on the list will ensure that your name is put forward for a placement in a Trafford school, when a vacancy or new position for instrumental teaching arises.
  • Current rates of pay for work in a Trafford school are from £18.18 - £23.33 per hour (Unqualified teacher scale), depending on age and experience.  Payment is the responsibility of the school, following the completion of a claim form, as enclosed in the Induction Pack.
  • All TAIT instrumental teachers must hold a current enhanced CRB clearance, less than 12 months old.  If you don’t already have this, or your clearance is more than one year old, application can be made through Trafford Music Service, at a charge of £36.00. A form will be provided. Please complete sections A-D, sign it and bring it to the Music Service office, along with three proofs of identity. Section B should be filled in as shown on the photocopied first page. Please note that cheques should be made payable to Trafford Council, and not the Criminal Records Bureau.  It is advisable to ring the office on 911 8663 to make an appointment, to check that someone is available to see you.  All CRB clearance is renewable every three years.
  • You will need to complete an application form, which can be done when you attend a TAIT Meeting, or can be completed separately and sent to June Taylor (details below).

THE APPLICATION FORM SHOULD BE RETURNED TO June taylor, music service administrator, SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT SERVICE, WOODSEND CENTRE, LYDNEY ROAD, FLIXTON, MANCHESTER M41 8RN.
